Where it is built
American-Made Picks We Cover
39 products from 27 brands that publish US manufacture, across every category on this site. 21 of them can be repaired by an independent shop rather than only by the factory.
Everything on this page is here for one reason: the company that makes it publishes a country of manufacture, and that country is the United States. Nothing is here because a brand sounds American, was founded in Wisconsin, or runs advertising with a flag in it. If a maker does not publish where a product is built, the product is not on this page and its own page reads “Not published” rather than a guess.
That filter is stricter than it sounds. Of the products in our registry, well under a third carry a published country of manufacture at all — the majority of brands simply do not say, including several whose reputation rests on the assumption that they do. We record what the document says and leave the inference to you.
What this page is not. It is not an audit. We do not inspect factories, we do not trace component sourcing, and we cannot tell you how a given brand draws the line between final assembly and the parts that arrive at it — brands word that differently and most do not break it out. Where a brand publishes its own wording, the product’s page carries it.
And domestic manufacture is not the same thing as durability. It correlates with the two things this site actually judges — a nearby factory tends to mean a published repair path and a warranty somebody will answer the phone about — but the correlation is not the reason to buy. Read the warranty band and the repair path on each row below before you read the flag. Our full method is here.
How this page is funded. Forge & Forever earns a commission when you buy through the links here, at no extra cost to you. It does not change which products we pick or what we say about them - and we say plainly when something is not worth owning. Full disclosure.
